Queen's Own Rifles of Canada (235)

Olivier celebrates with The Queen's Own Rifles their 155th Anniversary!
Moss Park Armoury, Saturday April 25 at 2pm
"The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada, originally the Second Battalion, Volunteer Militia Rifles of Canada, was formed on 26 April 1860. The cap badge still bears the number “2” in recognition of its seniority among regiments in Canada. In 1863 the name changed to 2nd Battalion Queen's Own Rifles of Toronto. It was under this name that the regiment fought at the Battle of Ridgeway, during the Fenian Raids of 1866. In 1882 the Regiment officially became the 2nd Battalion Queen's Own Rifles of Canada."
